The Former Beggars of Christ Refuge
Fatima Outreach Foundation once owned approximately 400 acres in West Tennessee, envisioned as the future Beggars of Christ Refuge, a peaceful place dedicated to prayer, healing, restoration, and missionary service. The property included approximately nine cottages, a 30-acre lake known as the Little Sea of Galilee, several additional ponds and lakes, a swimming pool, volleyball court, welcome center with sitting area, prayer area, multiple pavilions, fishing areas, concrete walking paths, abundant wildlife, and beautiful, peaceful surroundings.
The vision for the Beggars of Christ Refuge was to create a place where those who were wounded, vulnerable, or in need of healing and restoration could step away from the struggles of everyday life and encounter peace, compassionate support, prayer, and hope. It was also envisioned as a place where missionaries could pray, serve, and accompany those seeking a new beginning.
Fatima Outreach Foundation subsequently lost control of the property through a disputed deed transfer that the Foundation alleges was fraudulent. The Foundation disputes the validity and authorization of that transfer, and the matter is currently being pursued through legal counsel and appropriate legal proceedings.
Although we no longer have possession of this property, the vision of the Beggars of Christ Refuge has not been lost. A refuge is more than land or buildings. It is a place where wounded hearts can find safety, where those who have suffered can begin again, and where the love and mercy of Jesus Christ can bring hope into darkness. We continue to pray and work toward the day when this vision may once again become a reality, wherever God may lead us.
