Beggars of Christ Missionaries
Who Are the Beggars of Christ Missionaries (BOC)?
BOC is a Roman Catholic missionary community and spirituality founded upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the conviction that every human person is a beggar before God, completely dependent upon His infinite mercy, grace, and love.
We are not merely followers of Christ.
We are beggars!
A Beggar of Christ is someone who comes before Jesus with nothing but a faithful and humble heart, fully aware of their desperate need for Him, and discovers in Him everything. This identity is not one of shame, but of grace. To be a Beggar of Christ is to recognize our poverty of spirit while rejoicing that we have been chosen, loved, and redeemed by God. It is to live with open hands, tear stained prayers, and childlike trust in a Father who heals, provides, forgives, and saves.
Before we can serve others, we must first receive His mercy. Before we can lead others to Christ, we must first abandon ourselves to His Holy Will. Only then can we become instruments through whom Christ brings His Divine Healing to the world.
The spirituality of Beggars of Christ is rooted in prayer, humility, trust, surrender, conversion, and joyful service. Every work of charity begins not with our own strength, but with God’s grace. Every ministry, every mission, and every act of mercy flows from an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
As missionaries, we seek to encounter Christ in every person, especially the poor, the forgotten, the wounded, the oppressed, the lonely, and those searching for hope. We accompany them with compassion, proclaim the Gospel through word and deed, and strive to restore hope, healing, dignity, and new life in Christ.
Beggars of Christ Missionaries is the spiritual foundation and guiding charism of Fatima Outreach Foundation. Every ministry of Fatima Outreach Foundation is born from and guided by this spirituality of mercy, surrender, healing, and missionary service.
A Beggar of Christ Is Someone Who…
- Acknowledges their poverty of spirit and embraces complete dependence upon God as a source of strength rather than weakness.
- Cries out to Jesus with confidence, like Bartimaeus, trusting that His mercy always hears the humble.
- Falls at His feet with the faith of the desperate father, the pleading mother, and the repentant sinner, believing that no burden is beyond His compassion.
- Brings others to the Divine Healer, like the friends who carried the paralytic, believing that every soul deserves an encounter with Christ.
- Waits with persevering faith, like the Canaanite woman, trusting God’s love even in moments of silence.
- Lives among the least, recognizing the presence of Christ in the poor, the suffering, the forgotten, and the vulnerable.
- Receives God’s mercy with gratitude and freely shares that same mercy with others.
- Seeks not personal recognition, but the greater glory of God.
- Desires to become a living witness of Christ’s love, mercy, and Divine Healing.
